Just in time for the back-to-school season, Kizik rallied its team to provide a special gift to the Boys & Girls Club of Rosebud, South Dakota. Kids on the Rosebud reservation are part of a community that connects to nature and the outdoors: hunting, fishing, biking, swimming. Living on the reservation presents challenges as well, and we took the opportunity to take a little pressure off with new shoes to start school in.

Life on the reservation

The cost of living, especially when it comes to food and housing, is notably higher within the reservation. Grocery stores (and in turn, fresh produce) are limited, which leads to a reliance on processed and fast foods. Housing shortages and substandard living conditions cause additional stress for families, who often share homes meant for far fewer occupants.

The Boys & Girls Club of Rosebud provides safe spaces and mentorship. Kids’ programs create opportunities for adventure and aim to help children and teens discover their potential and nurture their dreams.

Gift of shoes: A step toward empowerment

Kizik was pleased to gift 90 pairs of shoes to the Boys & Girls Club as they stepped into the new school year. We hope they felt the collective embrace of a caring community, reminding them that they are valued and supported on their path to greatness.
